QUOTES: Janine Gray “I have just started to put on gigs under the name Nine Crows and have known John for a couple of years through our mutual love of film. When he asked if I would like to work on this with him I was delighted. I have so far found everyone we approached to be incredibly generous with their time and money. Googies Art Cafe raised £280 towards our fund already, the Quarterhouse staff have been incredibly helpful – I know we are going to have a huge list of people to thank by the end of this project!”
“I am really excited by the line up so far – we have one or two more things in the pipeline to announce yet”
John Baker of County Hardware Cheriton ” I really felt that I wanted to do something that would be a great fundraiser for the benefit of the earthquake victims. We hope to give the people of Folkestone a terrific night out at their new arts venue The Quarterhouse at the same time”
FURTHER INFO: There will also be a charity raffle or auction for exciting prizes and a number of satellite events. Posters for the event will be appearing around town and beyond very soon.

KERRANG! Magazine say “Spy Catcher, just three months old and already sounding like a prospect. These boys have form – frontman Steve Sears was formerly in Cry For Silence and bassist Stuart Gili-Ross is better known for his day job in Gallows – so it’s little wonder they sound sharp and sussed already… combining the low end swagger of QOTSA with the tunefulness of Rival Schools. Go see. Now.”
Riding high on the success of their first album “Rock is cursed” Spy Catcher have fast gained a following of loyal fans. To experience this Rock sensation first hand, get down to the Quarterhouse Folkestone on the 22nd of January 2010.

Morrissey Quits Gig Early
Posted by admin in Bands Groups & Performers, Gigs Concerts & Tours, Music Venues on November 8, 2009
Initial reports suggested that the missile was a half full plastic glass, around 25 minutes after Morrissey left the stage, a member of the crew described the object thrown as a bottle. The attack happened after Morrissey opened with ‘This Charming Man’ and was in the middle of the song ‘Black Cloud’.
This incident comes just two weeks after Morrissey collapsed on stage with breathing difficulties during a gig in Swindon.
The incident was widely reported by Fans at the Liverpool Echo Arena via social networking site Twitter. Many expressed sympathy with the star but others were angered that he did not return to the stage to finish the gig.
The announcement that Morrissey would not be returning to the stage was greeted by boos from the packed arena. One fan said: “This is a disgrace. Why does one person have to spoil it for everyone?
An Echo Arena spokeman told the Liverpool Daily Post: “We are reviewing CCTV evidence to ascertain exactly what happened. We have a strict policy of no glasses being allowed in the arena and we also decant all drink from bottles into plastic glasses at events of this kind.”
“It looked like a plastic glass but you couldn’t really tell. It appeared to hit Morrissey square on the head.”
